With Christmas 2023 now firmly in the rearview mirror, we can look forward to making 2024 a success.
Christmas Past
It seems like a lifetime ago that you would have sat down in December, working your socks off before that well-earned Christmas break. You put all of those dreams and goals on paper determined to use them to fuel your hunt to attract the best clients….so why is it that as January came to a close you feel like you’re still in the same position?
It could be that despite making plans on what you were going to do you weren’t specific enough with the how. Many businesses and business owners aren’t clear enough on the right actions they need to take to improve their offerings. That, or they take on too many things at once, trying desperately to change too many big things in one go, leaving them too thinly spread.
Time to refocus
The good news is, you’re not too late to get back on track. So, whether you’re looking to improve your social media offering, repackage your products, streamline your operations, start a podcast, or any of the multitude of things on your list, they are all achievable – you just need attainable goals paired with time and the right skills or team to get you there.
The better news is that no one knows your business better than you, so you’re in the perfect position to drive its development.
Here are three things that you can prioritise this month to get your goals firing:
1: Get specific
Whatever your goals are you will struggle to achieve them if you’re being too broad. So think less ‘I want to grow my followers on social media,’ and more ‘I want to grow my followers by 10 people a week in the first quarter of the year.’ This then gives you a tangible number to target, rather than an empty statement. Growing your following by one a month is growth, but it’s not the level you’re after.
And make sure you know WHY you want new followers and who they need to be – you need to be clear that followers numbers don’t always link to profit! You need the right people to follow you for those numbers to be meaningful!
2: Check in regularly
No one should be making goals that involve one huge leap. You need to think in incremental steps, to ease yourself towards your targets. For example, if you say that you’ll repackage your products by the end of the year, that’s great, but make sure to build in regular steps along the way, maybe once a month, to see how close you are to each goal. Otherwise, you could give yourself a busy December.
3: Strategy, Strategy, Strategy
Having a solid plan is going to help you so much and will also keep you accountable. A solid strategy not only lets you decide what the destination is but also the route you’ll take and the steps you need to follow along the way. The best thing is, you know that things need to change, and you’re open to it, so why not add in this vital planning stage?

Here to help
If you’re worried about building a strategy or hiring someone to implement it for you, then you are certainly not alone.
But we’re experts at what we do. We’ve worked with a range of different businesses, varying in size, industry and so much more, helping them through our knowledge-based 1:1s, marketing strategy sessions and getting on with the doing if they need it, which gets them fully focussed and firing on all cylinders.
Former clients have fed back that after collaborating with us they feel clearer about their strategy than they did before and now know exactly what they need to do to succeed, and they found out that I love a custard cream, I mean, who doesn’t?
Time to change
January has come and gone and whereas you may already have looked at what problem you’re solving for your clients, you may still be wondering if you’re doing everything you can with your own business to meet the demand and push you up onto the next level and beyond.
Just because you can do something yourself, it doesn’t mean you should. So if you want to get results, working at your pace, with a team that specialises in helping clients gain control of their marketing and operations, then book a free, 30-minute discovery call with me. Bring a cuppa and a biccy (mine will be a custard cream) and let’s get to the bottom of what you need to move forward in your business. One client said that during a session with us, we gave them ‘clear direction’ and that it was ‘time very well spent’ – so let’s get that for you too!
The January blues are gone, lets move our 2024 plans forward with purpose this February.
