👀 Getting seen by clients is a big challenge for small businesses everywhere.

There’s a whole host of options – which ones should you choose? What are you missing out on?

We’ve been talking all about visibility on our social platforms this week and we’ve summarised our top tips here in this blog to help you get in front of your audience in the right way more often and injecting a bit of personality so that your clients remember your business when they are ready to buy what you sell. Because you know what, it sucks when your ideal client chooses your competition because they can’t remember your business name when it comes to the crunch! 🤯

There are plenty of ways you can make the most of opportunities to be seen and to remind people about your business in a personalised way.

Firstly, it’s October already –

time to think about the ‘C’ word 🎄. While you might be already thinking about festive posts and offers, here’s something you may not have considered – branded Christmas cards.

It’s not just images that help you get visible – words count too.

✍🏼 Change up your comms style and cut out the jargon so that your communications connect more effectively. Great communication starts with speaking plainly. You know the saying, it does what it says on the tin? That’s what you’re going for, so forget the jargon and talk to your audience in a way they can relate to.

🔝 Our top tip for making sure that your personality shines through when you write if you find you’re always too formal when you write, is to record yourself talking about the topic – then transcribe it – it will sound more like you than the words you type!

Thirdly….do you have a lead magnet?

A low cost or free offer to lure people onto your mailing list? Create some valuable content and set it up to automate (don’t forget a nurture sequence). People love receiving anything that can immediately scratch a pesky itch so show ‘em what you can do and bring warm leads into your world in this way. Make sure you add that link to your lead magnet everywhere – on your website, on your socials, via QR codes on printed materials, and on your e-mail signature too – because when you’re already e-mailing someone it’s a great way to add some extra value!

And while we’re on the subject of emails… see what I did there?

Our fourth visibility tip is to get emailing!

📧 Write to your existing mail-list (making sure you’re GDPR compliant) to tell them what’s new or to share exclusive offers with them.

Nurture your existing clients with updates and useful info.

Reach out to lapsed clients to ask them what they need now and how you can help.

Then think about new audiences – what value can you offer them?

We know that email marketing can feel ‘big’ – systems, GDPR, content – so we recommend keeping it simple and focused.

 Our last tip this week is all about networking!

🤝 Lots of us have gotten out of the swing of networking over the past couple of years but it can be a great way to be seen, known and to build word of mouth.

Try looking at what’s available in your local area and try a few events out – you kind of need to suck it and see to find out where your ideal client hangs out and does business. Then there’s online networking – there’s a whole host of them.

Top tip: ask your audience where they network if they run a business – your other potential clients are likely to be where they are!
