Time flies when you’re having fun, and my oh my time flies when you’re trying to tackle that OTT to-do list and wait, where did the day go, the week, the month, the year?
It’s October 🍁 as I’m writing this, and October can be a fraught month for a lot of business folk. September is a fabulous time for taking action, planning new moves and really cashing in on what works for your business but sometimes, September flies by with all those best laid plans staying exactly there – as plans.
So October can loom over us as one of those months where we kick ourselves, why didn’t I use my time better?
When am I going to get a chance to get this stuff done?
It’s so easy to get overwhelmed, isn’t it?
All these fabulous plans, ready for you to take action but hold on, you have to do this bit of admin, that necessary evil, organise this, just quickly do that…
✋🏻 Woah, let’s back it up a minute.
When you’re doing ‘all the things’ it is impossible to do all the right things – the big impact activities, the stuff that’s going to generate revenue, the things you love to do and should be doing like, I dunno, showing up in all your power and glory for your clients?!
Fortunately, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. 🙌🏻 There’s plenty of ways to get effective, really quickly, with not too much effort.
Quick wins – we like those!
This week we’ve been sharing our top tips for getting more clients organically by straightening out your social media, and we’ve summarised them here for you so that you can use it as a one stop shop to get your platforms optimised.
There are some straight-up simple things you can do to make your social media profiles more appealing, recognisable, and effective. You want to make it super easy for your potential clients to see who you are, what you do, and how to buy from you.
Make it easy for them to say yes! 💚
- Update your Facebook services tab with your products and services – include links within each one to your website or checkout page
- Add a series of stories explaining your products and services to your Instagram and then creating a ‘work with me’ highlight to save them in
- List your offerings in your LinkedIn bio and include links to your checkout pages
- Don’t waste your cover photo spaces on any of your social media platforms – use it to promote your latest offering / event or download. It’s a great way to get your customers looking at the relevant content to them as soon as they land on your profile. You can even add a link in the comments section of your Facebook cover photo to help people link to your latest offering and add a relevant call to action button beneath it too!
- Get your social media profile pictures consistent across all of your platforms – it can help brand recognition when your audience see your content in new places. If you run a service-based business a photo of you looking eyes to camera is always a good idea – it helps build connection with your potential clients – but add a logo behind you for impact! If you run a product-based business, a logo might work better for you – keep it clear, and central to the image.
- Review the tabs you have on your Facebook page – are you using the right ones for you? Are there any you’re missing? For example, do you have a Groups tab showing but no active group – you can deselect this tab in your settings. While you’re in the settings list decide whether you need to add an events tab – set your seasonal sales, Facebook lives and any webinars or networking events you are attending or speaking at as events to help your audience know where they can find out and what is coming up next.
Remember there are so many useful features on each social media platform. And yes, it can seem like a daunting task to create consistency across those that you use but the benefits make it so worth it.
